Students today have more freedom, choice, and power over the "what," "when," "where," "how," and "with whom" of learning than ever in history. We'll help your team prepare to embrace that.
Learning in the Modern World
Since the pandemic began, the value of standardized tests and traditional assessments have been questioned, and in many cases they've been canceled! How will we respond to this shift in priorities? How will educators and school leaders embrace this new freedom?
Can we now learn to prioritize a love of learning over achievement test scores?
Can we now design human-centered learning opportunities that connect students with others who share their passions and learning goals?
Can we now lead initiatives that focus on equity? On providing meaningful professional learning for our teachers and staff? That support the social-emotional needs of our communities?
Learning in the modern world is learning right now. We're in the modern world. We're living it.
Learning in the modern world means coming to terms with our current realities and rethinking and reprioritizing what our schools can be for kids. What they should be.

Explore What's Possible
This is an unprecedented time in education. In schools. In learning. Educators all over the world are having to reimagine what learning could be - what it should be - given our world's current circumstances. Our leadership efforts are likely shrouded in clouds of confusion, doubt, and genuine wondering about what are the right things to do to support student learning.
At a time when students have more freedom and choice and power over the what, when, where, how, and with whom they learn, are your students taking an active part in all that is now possible? Are, we designers and leaders of learning, creating conditions for this to happen?
It's time to rethink how we allow students to connect to experts for deeper learning, to network with those who share their passions, and deeply engage in conversations and collaborations that allow them to better understand each other and their world. It's possible for your students to fall in love with learning.
During your 6-week Change School experience, you'll have the same opportunity your students now have. You'll connect with experts, network with others who share your passions, and engage in conversations and collaborations. Simply stated, you'll fall in love with learning again. We promise.
Together we can make a difference.

Is Change School right for you?
Change School isn’t for everyone. It is NOT for you if:
- You are comfortable with the status quo and uninterested in questioning traditional practices.
- You're overwhelmed and your days are consumed by putting out the fires involved with day to day operations.
- You consider student learning to be someone else's job in your school.
- You believe your hands are tied and there are is too much red tape in the way of change.
- You are completely satisfied with your school's climate and culture.
Change School IS exactly what you need if:
- You look for opportunities to grow professionally, and you have a passion for learning.
- You prioritize gathering diverse perspectives along with understanding the work of others who are pushing the boundaries of what school could be.
- You’ve been looking for a place where you can engage in meaningful professional conversations about topics that many others shy away from.
- You’re happy to get out of your comfort zone, and engage in the excitement of exploring what’s now possible.
- You value honesty, transparency, and the opportunity to challenge traditional assumptions about school.
If that describes you, then we‘d love to have you join us in Change School!

How much time does Change School require?
Our members tell us that to get the most out of Change School expect to spend 3-5 hours a week during the 6-week sprint. Two hours in live, synchronous virtual video calls, and another two to three hours consuming and responding to the content in our online, asynchronous community.
The more live sessions you attend, the more you will get out of Change School. However, if you have a vacation scheduled or a board meeting to attend, it's okay! All live sessions are recorded and shared in the community. There are no grades and no seat time requirements.
Focus sessions: Each Wednesday (April 6 - May 11) at 12PM CST, we set up the Focus topic for the week in a Live Zoom video session. We record each Focus session for those who can’t make it.
Group coaching sessions: We offer individual coaching calls too. We recommend you make time for one coaching call each week.
